About Me
Hi, I'm Eda Nur Duran — an artist, art therapy practitioner, and interpreter based in Wayne, New Jersey. Art has always been at the heart of my life. I believe deeply in the healing power of creativity, and I’m passionate about helping others find peace and expression through art.
My work spans a variety of mediums, including oil painting, acrylics, charcoal drawing, marbling, and more. I don't limit myself to a single style — I simply paint whatever inspires me. Whether it's the beauty of nature, the stories found in travel, or the emotions sparked by a good book, I let my heart guide my art.
Having lived in different countries, I've learned that no matter our backgrounds, every human being simply wants to be understood. As an interpreter who has worked across many industries, including mental health, I have witnessed firsthand that emotions are often difficult to express — even in one’s own language. Talking about traumas is not easy for everyone, and sometimes words are simply not enough.
This is where art becomes an incredible tool: it helps us understand ourselves, feel seen, and begin to heal in ways words cannot.
As a former medical student, I am deeply aware of how stress and unexpressed emotions can manifest into physical illnesses — often pushing us into cycles of pharmacological treatments that offer only temporary solutions. I believe true health requires harmony between mind, body, and soul.
Art is a beautiful bridge between these three parts of ourselves. It clears our minds, moves our bodies, and listens to the quiet voice of our soul. Through art, we create safe spaces for emotions to surface, to be honored, and to be healed.
Beyond the studio, I love traveling, reading, exploring nature, and connecting with others through creativity and compassion. Through everything I create, my hope is to offer others the same sense of understanding, healing, and freedom that art has given me.
